One thing I will say, is that I’m actually impressed with the ammount of notification and messages I’m getting about costs. Once apon a time you would be totally in the dark and just cross all fingers that it wasn’t going to cost an arm and a leg when you got home (and it always did)

You can buy a roaming data bolt on with O2 before you leave and this brings the price down. I think 50mb with O2 was £42. You need to reset your useage monitor and keep checking it to ensure you don’t go over. I would also turn roaming off and on as required to ensure it’s not left downloading upates or voicemail (you can get voicemail by dialing instead)

Bundled software isn't Mac compatible but necessary for smooth playback of 1080p video; price doesn't include an optional memory card.

The other thing I was looking out for was WiFi hotspots. I found two signals on the site I’m on and have purchased 120 minutes for 6 Euros – the 120 minutes never expire so you just log off and come back on later. I think this is pretty good as some want a load of money for a 24hr slot when in reality, I can work offline and only login to post data or download email.

i use twitterfeed also for repiping audioboo posts back into my twitter streams for the US crowd. around 3/4pm in the afternoon so they see them! :)

Did not know about the new hashtag thing. I've been thinking about hashtags a lot actually to make a better system that does'nt get corrupted so easily by lots of people using the same tag. more on that when i see you.

actually i should record a video of you doing that stuff, pixelpixel and the nokia OVI stuff when we get together on thursday. I'm supposed to be travelling down wed night and staying in london somewhere (not sure what they have sorted yet) so we are all travelling together from heathrow i believe btw.

You know your right i have left so many applications that i used off. I think the reason why i did not mession pixelpipe which i have used in the past but filled up with so many targets i found that somewhere along the line i'm duplicate posting to places. I use ping.fm as well actually too and there is a nice application for the iphone for that. I've not used it thou. But yes i should add pixelpipe - only reason i did not is because i have to go over it and fix my destinations. Problem with me is once i think about it i have go and do it! :)

You maniac. I love that you've done all this. Better get busy with some of this stuff so that we can play with it together. Though I have no iPhone.

One thing I've discovered in the last couple of days which will totally transform my ability to upload content is Pixelpipes.com - not only does it allow you to send videos and pictures to pretty much every sharing site & social network, but it has Nokia Share Online integration, so you can send any pic or vid from your Nokia to *everywhere* in one click. Will be very useful on our N86s. (Same with iPhone)

It also works with Blip.tv's autocrossposting service. So I can upload a video to Pixelpipes, it will post the video to my Blip account, and Blip will automatically post the video to my videoblog with an embedded Flash/H264 player *and* a mp4 file link for your video podcast feed - as well as post Title and description.

I've also been tinkering with Twitterfeed, which I've used since it first came out, and which is hugely useful to automate your content distribution when you're doing everything from your mobile. It now has a bunch of advanced settings, so you can add a hashtag to all your tweets, and also add a filter so that it only tweets when the post contains a keyword.

So I can set Pixelpipes to upload videos and photos to all the different sharing sites, but Twitterfeed will only tweet from each service if the post contains a certain keyword. Thus, for example, Flickr will tweet only photos, and my blog will tweet only videos. Which stops drowning my twitter stream with multiple links to duplicate content if I upload the same video to my Blog & Flickr & various other services via Pixelpipes.

Need your ideas for what we could with 10 seperate wifi hotspots. Yes, we can put into seperate boxes and send out to seperate events/destinations etc but just for a one off was wondering what we could build as a cluster - need your best ideas for maybe some kind of hotspot cluster - maybe breaking up traffic to different networks for different sites. maybe have a twitter backup grid for a venue so people can tweet? - maybe we make some kind of mega redudant mobile network fall over? - best ideas geeks please!

Great list Phil, Got a few new ones to try!
There is now 12 Cast the videoversion of 12Seconds iPhone App. Thanks to @Documentally for the heads up on this. Only works for 3gs of course but it's what we've been waiting for.
Can I also add Tube Status, Traffic UK, WifiFofFum, CamsAhoy, Distant Suns and StarMap as worth checking out.

Eventually i would love to spread it worldwide of course. I want to get it going in the uk first and then europe and then america. By the time we are thinking about europe maybe getting someone to deal with the america side of it will be just a case of putting together what we know and setting up an american side to the operation.

From a logistics point of view the uk is the best place to start purely because 'it aint that big' compared to shipping boxes and units around the US, we sorta know how things work with couriers and such like in this country and we will have a series of issues we will have to address no doubt with the first batch of boxes and events.

You know how these things go thou - it could go quite big quite rapidly! :)
